Petra and Sofia.
Two women with great expectations and dreams of a future filled with new meetings, events and experiences. We have after more than 25 years in Crete understood that our knowledge about the village and area is in request from many visitors. Guests ask us daily our opinion, recommendations and more about what to do, to see and how to get the absolute best from Platanias during holidays. Hi!
I'm a Finnish woman in my fifties, a mother of two young adult daughters and have been living in Platanias with my Greek husband the past 25 years. During my years in Crete I have worked in the tourism industry in various positions, both in hotels and with different tour operators, and I have met a lot of different travelers.
Today, my knowledge of Western Crete as well as the local customs and culture are so strong that I believe I can help you make your vacation in Platanias unique. Due to my Nordic roots I also understand what exactly you expect from your vacation!

To become "one of them" was my first goal moving from Gothenburg, Sweden to Platanias 1995.
A few years later, the village had opened their arms to me and me to them. Just amazing! After a big greek wedding, raising three children and years of work with guests, I was totally ready for "Destination Platanias" that we started to plan during our winter walks and became a reality at 2018. A suitable site and service shop in the village where we will help you to dream & plan so you can have the very best holiday, anniversary or any kind of family gathering. As a Hotel Manager at Sonio Beach Hotel, my experience with holiday guests is very rich and trustful.
