Super CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance
is the affordable way to deal with the unexpected when you rent a car
Renting a car most of the times means driving a car you’re not familiar with, in unfamiliar places, maybe on narrow country roads with signs in a foreign language. Parking may be difficult and dealing with local driving habits can be challenging.
If you have an accident and the car is damaged your rental agreement will cover the full cost minus a cost called excess mentioned in your car rental policy. In this case you will be liable to pay this excess amount, which in many cases could be more than the amount you’ve paid for renting the car.
This can ruin your trip and make you wish you hadn’t spared the few extra euros when you were booking the car.
Next time you rent a car do it confidently without the fear of unplanned costs and enjoy worry-free holidays with the Collision Damage Waiver insurance from our associated Insurance company, a world leader in travel insurance and services.
We are also cooperating with a second local company from Chania who has operating for over 25 years in the island of Crete and can provide you a safe and unforgettable drive. Ask us and we will help you with the rental arrangements .
To rent a car in Crete is easy and simple and quite cheap. The more days you will rent the cheaper it will become. The selection of companies and cars is big. All you need is a driver's license. We cooperate with some local companies that we trust and know well.
We highly recommend to rent a car that way you can discover our beautiful island on your own terms and in your own tempo. It's quite the experience to drive on the cretan roads for two reasons: for all the magnificent views you will see but also the way of driving…
Sense the island is big there are many places that you should visit. Beautiful small roads along the cost that you shouldn't miss, the view from the mountains are unbeatable with all of the small cute pittoresk villages. Usually there are road signs along the road both in greek and in english.
The conditions of the roads varies a lot. There can be new wide nice roads in the mountains but most of them are narrow and in not so good condition. Most of all the roads are very slippery. Keep this especially in mind if you rent a motorcycle or a moped. The tires easily lose their grip and it becomes even more slippery if it rains so drive extra slow then! Be careful of holes in the road and drive slow and safe. Also it's not unusual to find mountain goats in the middle of the road in front of you!
The greeks follow the speed limits so and so… Always be observant in traffic everyone makes a little bit of their own rules. Keep to the side so that cars that wish to pass you can. They often flash their lights when they want to pass you. Be extra attentive to bikers or motorcyclists as they tend to be just about everywhere and many accidents happens. Be careful by the traffic lights, yellow light many times mean go faster so some might slip by with red light also. So always make sure it's safe to go don't only look at the light.
If you would like to stop by the side of the road turn on your alarm light so everyone can see that you have stopped. The law says also here in Greece that by a pedestrian crossing the car should always stop if someone pleases to cross the road but not many do so. So never expect someone to stop!
There are manned gas stations just about everywhere so there is always someone to put gas for you. Gasoline prices are around 1,6 euros per liter.
