According to tradition Saint John the Hermit was the one who founded the rich ascetic tradition of the island. Our last stop will be at the Patriotis Winery, a family owned and operated boutique winery and vineyard, with tradition in winemaking that dates back in time. The winery accepts only small groups. An adult will pay 24€ upon booking and the remaining amount 26€ will be paid in cash at bus to the guide. Children 33€ The total price for a child age 3-11,99 yrs is 33€. A child will pay 20€ upon booking and the remaining amount 13€ will be paid in cash at bus to the guide. Children under 3 yrs are free of charge.   Your day starts with being picked up from your hotel or at one of the specific pick up points. On the bus the guide is going to give you all the necessary information about the cruise. The ferry is waiting for you when you arrive at the port of Kissamos. There is a self-service point on board where you can buy meals, snacks and drinks. You can freely choose your seat either on the outside deck or inside. From the port, it is less than an hour's sea journey to Balos lagoon. You have possibility to swim in the crystal clear waters and enjoy sunbathing at the beach or on board. The break at Balos beach is 2,5 hours. It is only 20 minutes from Balos to the island of Gramvousa. There will be 1 hour and 45 minutes break on the island where you can stay ashore for a swim, hike up to the Venetian fortress of Gramvousa or stay on the ferry. From the island of Gramvousa, there is a direct return to the port of Kissamos-Kastelli. During the boat trip, it's a great opportunity to admire the scenery from the sea when the sun is already behind you. The ferry is arriving at 17:45 to the port and the return time in Chania is approximately by 19:00. The facilities on ferry accepts only credit cards, no cash! Notice! To see the Gramvousa fortress you need to walk uphill a couple of hundred of meters to reach the top of the island.

We will reach Elafonisi about 11:15 and we will stay there about 3,5 to 4 hours. It is a short walk of about 15 minutes from the bus down to the beach. You will have a plenty of time to walk through the shallow water to discover the beautiful area of Elafonisi, to sunbathe and to swim in the crystal clear water. A fantastic place which often is called as "The Cretan Maldives”. As we return with the bus, there will be a stop in a local village for late lunch for approx. one hour. The guiding in the tour is in English. The ship departs everyday from the port of Kissamos for Gramvousa and Balos lagoon. STEP 1:  Buy fast and smoothly your ticket here! Departures: 10.25 – return to the port at 18:00. First stopp at Balos then Gramvousa. 10.40 – return to the port at 17:45. First stopp at Balos then Gramvousa. 10:55 – return to the port at 18:00. First stop at Gramvousa then Balos. STEP 2 : Show your voucher and get your Boardingpass at the office CRETAN DAILY CRUISES wich is in Kissamos harbour: Port of Kissamos   Please be at port at leats  40 minutes prior departure! STEP 3:  Go on board the cruise and enjoy your day! Attention: The timetable changes according the season.    TICKET PRICES without meals Passengers up to 2 years old travel for free. Passengers between the age of 3 and 12 pay 24€. Passengers over 13 years old pay 40€. The above-mentioned prices (no meals) include VAT, all legal charges and a written guided tour in several languages.   GOOD TO KNOW The facilities on the ferry accepts only credit cards, no cash! There are plenty of parking  The Municipality of Kissamos charges €1 from each ticket (paid in cash), as an administrative fee for passengers over 13 years old. In Gramvousa and Balos, you may return to the ship at any time, but make sure you are back at least 10 minutes before departure.  Details of your trip The ferry leaves from the port of Kissamos and sails in the bay for an hour, after a while you will see a large cave known to be an ancient shipyard. At the end of the bay you will see an impressive geological phenomenon, over time Crete’s west side is rising and the eastern side is sinking. This is happening because of the movement of the African tectonic plate under the Eurasian plate. You can see the ancient coastline along the rocky shore.The self-service bar stays open throughout the whole cruise, offering light meals, salads, soft drinks, coffee, ice creams and more.   Gramvousa - The island of Pirates   The highest point of the island is 137 meters, here you find the famous castle of Gramvousa that was built by the Venetians in 1579. The castle played a huge role in the history of the area because of the panoramic view and the legends about a hidden pirate treasure. You need to hike up for about 20 min to reach the top. Please remember to wear good comfortable shoes. You can also have a swim near the chapel of Agioi Apostoli or you can choose to stay on the ship. Another fun fact is that Gramvousa island has three plants that havent been found anywhere else on earth. The break in Gramvousa will be approximately 1.5 hours. The trip from Gramvousa island to Balos is about 25 min.   Balos Lagoon   Balos is mentioned as one of the best beaches in Europe. A beautiful exotic beach with warm turquoise water. It’s a true beauty! You will enter to the beach walking by a folded bridge from the ferry. The ferry will stay at the Balos beach almost 2.5 hours. You may also stay in the ferry and enjoy sunbathing if you wish. There is a self-catering restaurant in the ferry you can buy food or beverages at any time. We loved our afternoon mountain tour. It was a cute little group of 5 of us everyone was lovely. Our guide was immensely knowledgeable, painted an excellent picture of Cretan life and informed us of the history.
